Admission Checklist
Step 1: Register on the Centralized Wait List
Your child must be registered on the Centralized Wait List Registry with the City of Greater Sudbury to be considered for enrolment at the school.
Please be advised: Registration on the city waitlist does not guarantee acceptance at the Montessori School of Sudbury.
Step 2: Connect with Us
We welcome families interested in our Programs to visit us during our annual Open House Event held in May and/or to book a tour with us. Watch our Instagram for our Open House dates.
Step 3: Wait for an Offer of Admission
Our typical intake for students is in September of each year. Offers will be made to new students in May/June. We do take some Toddler children in January of each year. Otherwise, offers are made throughout the year as spaces become available.
See our Admission Process below.
Admission Process
The Montessori School of Sudbury adheres to the following process when filling vacant spaces.
When filling childcare spaces, the Montessori School gives priority to the following:
- Siblings of students currently attending Montessori
- Children of our staff/board members
- Alumni families and transfers from other Montessori schools
- Families who have attended our Open House and toured our facility
Offers for admission will be sent by email and followed up with a phone call. Once an offer is made, you will have 48 hours to reply before we move to the next person on our waitlist.
Terms of Admission
- Children must be 18 months of age by their enrollment date to be accepted into the Toddler program.
- Children must be 30 months of age to be considered for our Casa program and must be toilet trained.
- The Montessori School of Sudbury reserves the right to accept or reject any applications and also to request withdrawal of any child if it is, in the opinion of the teacher and administrator, that the program is not suitable for the student in question. This action is for the benefit of the child or the benefit of the class as a whole.
- As a condition of acceptance at the Montessori School of Sudbury, it is understood that the rules and of the school be adhered to. Any student who fails to adhere to the discipline policy of the school may be suspended or expelled. Tuition fees will not be refunded in this situation.
- There is no reduction in fees due to absenteeism, sickness, vacations or school closure due to extreme weather. We strongly suggest that parents have alternate care arrangements in place well in advance for their child so that they are prepared for their child’s illness and possible school closures.
- Enrollment may be cancelled in writing by the parents or guardians 14 days prior to an early withdrawal. After January 1st of the school year no refunds will be given except for relocation, medical reasons, or as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.

Along with your child’s tuition, there is one-time Registration fee (new students) and an annual Activity fee which covers the cost of special outings and classroom activities.
A processing fee of $25.00 will be charged for all NSF cheques. Any default in payments may result in the withdrawal of your child from school.
The obligation to pay all fees for the academic year is unconditional after the acceptance.
